Querétaro hosts Mexican and Latin American Meeting
23 September 2005
The fast developing city of Querétaro in Mexico was this year's venue for the annual meeting of the
DFK Mexican and Latin American members. 44 members representing firms across the region
attended the meeting, which coincided with an opening ceremony of new offices for the local DFK
firm, Malo Hernández y Asociados - DFK, S.C., at which the association's London based Executive
Director, Simon Fraser, cut the ribbon.
Juan Pacheco, the representative Director for the region on the DFK International Board of Directors,
chaired the meeting. He reported on the growth of membership in the region over the past year with
new members being appointed in Brazil, Peru and Chile. The association expects to appoint firms in
Bolivia and Panama shortly, which will give complete coverage of the main business centres
throughout the region. The chairman of the Quality, Professional Development and Practice
Management committees also presented reports.
The implications of the Sarbanes Oxley act for firms in the region servicing subsidiaries of US
businesses was presented by George Victor, Director of Quality Control of DFK USA member firm,
Holtz Rubenstein Reminick LLP.
